Friday 5:30p - 9p                        Beginners class                          Instructor: Rhoda McClain/Richard Melton

Rhoda will cover the history of locksmithing as well as the tools of the trade.  There will also be various mortise locks available for picking and hands-on making keys to the locks; both by depth keys and code machine.  Keyblank identification will also be covered; and Richard will lead a basic introduction to master keying systems and how to make more money satisfying your customers' needs in this area

Please bring all tools you would use in picking and rekeying lock cylinders.

Friday 5:30p - 9p                                         Marketing your business                Instructor: Fred Paxton 

Fred will cover a variety of ways to market your business in todays' advanced technological environment.  His best practices, as well as a round table discussion of your own successful marketing ideas, will be the main focus of increasing your bottom line.  The money and the needs are there; you just have to broaden your awareness of how to go get it.

Saturday 9:30a - 1p                                     Automotive GM 10-cut                              Instructor: Jeff Owens

Jeff will focus on the GM 10-cut lost key situation; as well as repairing and making money on ignition replacements using the determinator and A1 GM kit respectively.  This is an increasing area of need due to worn out ignitions and keys.  There will be a hands-on portion and he plans to show actual in-the-field video of GM in-dash ignition work being performed. 

Cost:  $30 before April 1 or $45 after

 

Saturday 9:30a - 1p                                     Small Format I/C core                  Instructor: Richard Melton

Richard will cover the ins and outs of pinning and master keying the small format interchangeable core system.  Hands-on picking, decoding and master keying will be the main focus, so bring all tools you will need in these areas to be able to participate fully. 
Cost:  $30 before April 1 or $45 after

 

Saturday 2p - 5:30p                                    Safe Whispering                        Instructor: Yvon LeDoux

Yvon and Eric lead a terrific safe penetration class last quarter; but it could have been a three-day event with the amount of information involved.  Yvon will lead this hands-on class attacking relockers, scoping the change-key hole, and many other manipulative ways to penetrate a locked container. 

Cost:  $40 before April 1 or $60 after

 

Saturday 2p - 5:30p                                    Advanced Automotive                   Instructor: Steve Myslik

We welcome Steve's vast knowledge and teaching skills back to the association while he comes to demonstrate how to make keys for VW's and Audi's.  He will cover the mechanical aspect, by making the first key, as well as the electronic aspect of reading the PIN and programming the key to the car.  He will also cover what the Superchip can do for you and how the AD900 (Advanced Diagnostic Cloner) can save and make you lots of money.                                                     

Cost:  $40 before April 1 or $60 after
